About the Role
Philban Consulting is a leading business consulting and corporate strategy organization in Nigeria. We are currently recruiting a highly analytical, independent, and detail-oriented Auditor to oversee and evaluate financial and operational controls within our hospitality business. In this role, you will conduct regular audits of revenue, cash handling, expenses, inventory, procurement, and payroll to protect company assets and drive financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular audits of daily hospitality revenue, including room sales, food and beverage, and events, while reconciling POS, property management systems, and bank records.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of financial and operational internal controls to identify weaknesses, fraud indicators, and process inefficiencies.
- Perform periodic audits of inventory across food, beverage, housekeeping, and engineering, reconciling physical quantities with system records to prevent leakage and wastage.
- Review general ledger transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll records to support month-end and year-end audit activities.
- Prepare clear, accurate audit reports detailing findings, risks, and actionable recommendations for executive management and department heads.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, operating procedures, and relevant financial regulations across all operational departments.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant audit experience, preferably within the Nigerian hospitality industry (hotels, resorts, or restaurants).
- Professional qualification or active part-qualification with ICAN, ACCA, CIA, or a recognized equivalent is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software, POS systems, property management systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with an uncompromising commitment to integrity and confidentiality.
