About the Role
Captain Cook Limited is a family-owned, customer-focused food business founded in 2005, currently operating over 15 locations nationwide. We are dedicated to producing delicious continental and African meals that remind you of home. We are currently looking for a motivated and analytical Audit Trainee to join our internal audit unit and help maintain our high standards of financial integrity and operational excellence across our eatery and bakery locations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in reviewing financial statements, cash flow records, and sales transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance, including reconciling daily sales reports with cash and credit card receipts.
- Participate in monthly physical inventory counts for eatery and bakery supplies, verifying records against actual stock and identifying discrepancies.
- Audit adherence to company policies related to food safety, hygiene standards, and customer service protocols.
- Assist in preparing detailed audit reports summarizing findings, risks, control weaknesses, and recommendations for corrective action.
- Support the Head of Audit Unit with administrative tasks, organizing documentation, scheduling audits, and following up on previous findings.
- A bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report findings effectively.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
