About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a dynamic and analytical Audit Specialist to join our internal audit team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in providing assurance to management and the Board on compliance, risk management, and the effectiveness of internal controls across our multi-sector operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Team Lead in developing and monitoring the execution of the Financial and Operational Audit Plan.
- Evaluate financial records, establish risk-based audit programs, and ensure strict adherence to audit procedures.
- Review, validate, and oversee financial and operational audit reports prepared by analysts.
- Perform ad hoc and special audit assignments, investigations, and peer quality reviews as instructed by leadership.
- Communicate audit findings, results, and recommendations via written reports and presentations to key stakeholders.
- Work closely with process owners to monitor progress on addressing external audit recommendations and follow-up plans.
- Maintain organizational standards in compliance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
- BSc or HND in Accounting or a related discipline; a Master's degree or MBA is an added advantage.
- Active membership in recognized professional bodies such as ICAN, ACCA, CIA, or CPA.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant financial and operational audit work experience, preferably with Big 4 or multinational corporate exposure.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, ICFR, finance best practices, and accounting packages including SAP.
