About the Role
GUO Transport Company Limited, a household name in the Nigerian transportation and logistics industry with operations spanning over 200 destinations, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Audit Officer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding company assets, evaluating internal controls, and ensuring operational compliance across our extensive network.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive operational, financial, and compliance audits across various departments and terminals.
- Review financial records, transactions, and supporting documents to ensure absolute accuracy and completeness.
- Assess the effectiveness of existing internal controls and proactively identify areas for operational improvement.
- Perform periodic physical cash counts, inventory stock counts, and fixed asset verification exercises.
- Investigate financial irregularities, policy violations, and suspected fraud cases with utmost confidentiality.
- Prepare detailed, objective audit reports and recommend practical corrective actions for management review.
- Monitor the timely implementation of agreed-upon audit recommendations across business units.
- Conduct unannounced surprise audits and spot checks at stations and regional offices.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, operating procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Assist management in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating potential business and operational risks.
- Possession of a Bachelor Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 4 years of proven professional experience in internal auditing, accounting, or compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills with high attention to detail.

- Proficiency in financial software, MS Excel, and modern audit techniques.
