About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier healthcare institution dedicated to medical excellence, education, and compassionate patient care. We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-riented Attendant to join our Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD). In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and operational efficiency within our medical facility, directly supporting our clinical teams and ensuring optimal patient safety.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, and sterilization of surgical instruments, medical devices, and hospital equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory supplies within the CSSD.
- Ensure compliance with strict hospital infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and sanitary standards.
- Transport sterilized materials, equipment, and supplies safely between the CSSD and operating theatres or other hospital departments.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, doctors, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on sterilization equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.
- Certification or specialized training in CSSD or sterile processing is a strong added advantage.
- Previous working experience in a CSSD, hospital theatre, or clinical sterilization services environment is preferred.
- Must possess relevant academic qualifications and be ICT compliant.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, high level of cleanliness, and exceptional organizational skills.
- Exemplary integrity, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Possession of relevant professional registrations and valid practicing licenses where applicable.
