About the Role
Federal University Lafia, a dynamic institution established in 2011 to expand access to quality education, is seeking a distinguished academic for the position of Associate Professor in Theatre and Media Arts. Based in Lafia, Nasarawa State, our rapidly growing university offers a vibrant intellectual community across eight faculties. We invite passionate educators and researchers dedicated to academic excellence to contribute to our expanding undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Faculty of Arts.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Associate Professor, you will lead teaching, research, and community engagement initiatives within the Department of Theatre and Media Arts.
- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in theatre arts, media studies, and related disciplines.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, as well as Master's and Ph.D. dissertations.
- Conduct groundbreaking research and publish scholarly articles in reputable national and international journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental administration.
- Mentor junior academic staff and participate in faculty committees and university service.
Candidates must meet the rigorous academic standards required for a senior professorial role in a Nigerian federal university.
- Must currently hold the rank of Associate Professor or equivalent at a recognized university.
- Possess a Ph.D. in Theatre Arts, Media Arts, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrate a strong record of outstanding and continuing teaching experience at the university level.
- Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) publications in reputable international and national peer-reviewed journals.
- Proven track record of successfully supervising Ph.D. and Master's students to completion.
