About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished academic to join our esteemed faculty within the School of Basic Medical Sciences. We are currently recruiting an Associate Professor in Speech and Language Therapy to lead groundbreaking research, mentor the next generation of healthcare professionals, and contribute to our vibrant academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and practical training to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Conduct impactful, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate research theses, dissertations, and student projects.
- Design, evaluate, and continuously update curriculum content in alignment with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, contributing to institutional growth and administrative duties.
- Engage in community service and professional outreach initiatives related to speech and language pathology in Nigeria.
- Possession of a PhD in Speech and Language Therapy or a closely related relevant field from a recognized institution.
- A stellar academic background, including a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
- Substantial university-level teaching experience, progressive academic standing, and a robust portfolio of scholarly publications.
- Demonstrated ability to attract research grants and collaborate within multidisciplinary medical and allied health teams.
