About the Role
Greenland University, Jalingo, the first private university established in Taraba State, Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished academic to join our Faculty of Science and Computing. Operating under the motto 'Knowledge for Self-Reliance,' our institution is committed to delivering world-class education and cutting-edge research. We are currently looking for an ambitious Associate Professor in Software Engineering to lead academic programs, foster innovative research, and contribute to the institutional growth of our vibrant campus in Jalingo, Taraba State.
Key Responsibilities- Teach, mentor, and evaluate undergraduate and postgraduate students in Software Engineering and related computing disciplines.
- Design, update, and implement robust curricula that meet national and international academic standards.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and actively publish in reputable national and international academic journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate research theses, projects, and dissertations.
- Provide academic leadership within the Faculty of Science and Computing and participate in departmental and university committees.
- Engage in community service and foster industry partnerships to enhance the practical application of software engineering.
- Hold a PhD in Software Engineering or a closely related computing field from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must have served for a minimum of 2 years as a Senior Lecturer in a recognized tertiary institution.
- Must possess at least 20 peer-reviewed journal publications in reputable outlets, including a minimum of 4 publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
- Demonstrable ICT proficiency and competence in modern software engineering tools and technologies.
- Active membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., CPN, NCS, IEEE).
- Possession of a mandatory NYSC discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate.
