About the Role
Wellspring University is a prestigious private tertiary institution operating on sound Christian ethics and principles, dedicated to molding intellectually sound and morally upright leaders for national development. We are currently seeking a dynamic, accomplished, and visionary Associate Professor of Software Engineering to join our esteemed Faculty of Computing at our campus in Benin City, Edo State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Software Engineering department by designing and delivering innovative undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.
- Conduct high-impact research, publish extensively in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and attract research grants.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate (MSc/PhD) student research projects and theses.
- Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to faculty professional development initiatives.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service.
- Foster local and international academic partnerships and collaborations in line with the university's vision.
- Must possess a PhD Degree in Software Engineering or a closely related computing discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of cognate university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
- A robust and verifiable record of peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Proven capacity for effective postgraduate teaching, student mentorship, and thesis supervision.
- Demonstrated evidence of academic leadership, ICT proficiency, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Current professional registration and valid practicing licenses with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
