About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and accomplished Associate Professor of Physiotherapy to join our esteemed Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering world-class education, mentoring postgraduate and undergraduate students, and contributing significantly to the academic growth of the Department of Physiotherapy.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training in physiotherapy to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and faculty meetings.
- Engage in community outreach programs and clinical partnerships to advance healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure research grants and funding.
- Possession of a PhD in Physiotherapy or a closely related relevant field from a recognized university.
- Must possess a First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
- Substantial years of tertiary-level teaching, academic administration, and comprehensive research experience.
- A strong portfolio of academic publications in peer-reviewed journals commensurate with the rank of an Associate Professor.
- Current registration and valid practicing license with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB).
