About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dedicated and scholarly Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy for the School of Basic Medical Sciences. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in Occupational Therapy to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations at various academic levels.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students to foster their professional growth and development.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees and administrative duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders and healthcare institutions to enhance community outreach and clinical training programs.
- Possess a PhD in Occupational Therapy or a closely relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Must hold a First Degree with not less than a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
- Demonstrate substantial teaching experience at the university level with a strong portfolio of academic publications.
- Show evidence of administrative capability, academic leadership, and grant-securing potential.
