We are currently inviting applications from highly motivated and qualified academics for the position of Associate Professor in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing within our esteemed College of Nursing Science located in Benin City, Edo State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality academic instruction and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.
- Lead innovative research initiatives, secure research grants, and maintain an active publication record in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Participate actively in curriculum development, review, and enhancement to meet national and international standards.
- Contribute to academic administration, department management, and university committees as assigned by the management.
- Engage in community outreach programs and professional service that promote mental health awareness and nursing excellence.
- Must possess a PhD in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing or a closely related relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of cognate university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of academic leadership, including a strong portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and proven capacity for postgraduate teaching and supervision.
- Must possess current professional registration and a valid practicing licence with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for modern teaching, learning, and research administration.
