About the Role
Federal University Lafia, established in February 2011 to expand access to quality higher education in Nigeria, is currently seeking a dedicated and accomplished Associate Professor to join the Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology within the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences. Located in Lafia, Nasarawa State, the institution boasts a thriving academic community with comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, providing a dynamic environment for career growth and impactful medical research.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in Medical Microbiology and Parasitology.
- Conduct cutting-edge research, publishing findings in reputable peer-reviewed national and international academic journals.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, as well as Masters and Ph.D. students to successful completion.
- Contribute actively to curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee duties within the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences.
- Mentor junior academic staff and participate in community service initiatives organized by the university.
- Must currently hold the rank of Associate Professor or be an equivalent senior academic.
- Possess a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology, Parasitology, or a closely related relevant field from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate a strong record of continuous university teaching and outstanding academic achievement.
- Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) publications in reputable international and national academic journals.
- Provide verifiable evidence of successful supervision of Ph.D. and Masters students.
