Federal University Lafia invites dynamic and accomplished academic professionals to apply for the position of Associate Professor (Agronomy) within our esteemed Faculty of Agriculture. As an Associate Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of the next generation of agricultural experts, mentoring postgraduate scholars, and contributing to the university's growing academic reputation through impactful research and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Agronomy and related agricultural sciences.
- Supervise and mentor Master's and Ph.D. students through their research projects and academic journeys.
- Conduct groundbreaking research and publish scholarly articles in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the enhancement of academic programmes within the Faculty of Agriculture.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, as well as community service initiatives.
- Must currently hold the rank of Associate Professor or be exceptionally qualified for promotion to the rank.
- Possess a Ph.D. in Agronomy or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited university.
- Demonstrate a strong record of outstanding and continuous teaching experience at the university level.
- Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) publications in reputable international and national academic journals.
- Proven track record of successfully supervising postgraduate students at both Master's and Ph.D. levels.
