Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with comprehensive preoperative assessments, reviewing clinical records, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory results.
  • Actively assist the Consultant Cardiac Surgeon during complex cardiac surgical procedures.
  • Ensure the proper preparation and maintenance of specialized surgical instruments, equipment, and materials.
  • Provide attentive postoperative patient care in close collaboration with the Cardiac ICU and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Monitor patient recovery closely, identifying potential risks and promptly escalating complications.
  • Participate actively in daily ward rounds and multidisciplinary cardiac case discussions.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant clinical and surgical documentation.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching programs, and service development.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.

Qualifications
  • Possession of an MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical degree alongside a relevant surgical qualification.
  • Valid current professional registration and a practicing licence to practice medicine.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant surgical experience in a recognized medical facility.
  • Demonstrated prior experience in cardiac or cardiothoracic surgery is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional clinical assessment, technical dexterity, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure operating theatre and multidisciplinary team environments.
  • Thorough understanding of perioperative and intensive postoperative surgical care.
