About the Role
JB Farms, a forward-thinking palm oil processing company with operations across Nigeria, is seeking a skilled Assistant Workshop Manager to join our dynamic team. Based in Odogbolu, Ogun State, with additional sites in Ore, Ondo State, and Oban, Cross River State, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our production equipment and supporting our commitment to efficiency, quality standards, and sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Workshop Manager in planning and coordinating workshop activities and maintenance schedules
- Supervise maintenance and repair operations for plant machinery, vehicles, and equipment
- Ensure timely execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Monitor workshop operations to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, reports, and spare-parts inventory systems
- Enforce strict compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and industry workshop standards
- Supervise, mentor, and develop workshop technicians, mechanics, and apprentices
- Support efficient spare-parts management and streamline material requisition processes
- HND or B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 6 years of workshop operations and maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity
- Strong expertise in mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and repair procedures
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance planning and inventory control
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people-management capabilities
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices
