About the Role
Join Africa's first Development University as an Assistant Professor or Senior Lecturer within the School of Information Technology and Computing at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), located in Yola, Adamawa State. In this dynamic role, you will deliver an American-style education, foster critical thinking, and empower students to solve Africa's most pressing socio-economic challenges using advanced IT and e-resource tools.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate instruction in computer science, information systems, and related disciplines while supporting student learning inside and outside the classroom.
- Engage actively in impactful scholarly research that drives personal development, institutional growth, and regional advancement.
- Provide comprehensive academic advising and mentorship to students throughout the semester.
- Participate regularly in departmental, school, and all-college meetings to ensure smooth operational workflows.
- Contribute meaningfully to AUN’s core mission of community service, development, and civic engagement.
- Supervise student research projects at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field from a reputable university.
- Minimum of six (6) years of university-level teaching, research, postdoctoral, or relevant industry experience post-Ph.D.
- Verifiable record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed, reputable journals.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, academic service, and student supervision.
- Proficiency in leveraging ICT tools and digital e-resources for modern pedagogy and research.
