About the Role

HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a leading building solutions company, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Production Manager to join our operations team. In this pivotal role, you will lead shift activities, optimize plant output, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance in cement manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce compliance with all safety rules, PTW (Permit to Work), and lockout/tag out procedures during the shift.
  • Lead and supervise all production shift activities to achieve daily output targets and optimize energy consumption.
  • Monitor key process indicators through CCR and field checks to identify deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the QA/QC department to ensure clinker production meets strict quality specifications.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor shift managers, kiln coordinators, and other plant personnel.
  • Prepare comprehensive production reports and ensure accurate logging of operational data.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or Sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cement plant operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or shift leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cement manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Proficiency in operating kilns and process control systems such as DCS and CCR.
  • Excellent problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making abilities under pressure.
