About the Role
HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a leader in building solutions, is seeking a dynamic Assistant Production Manager to join our plant in Mfamosing, Cross River. In this role, you will support the Production Manager in planning, coordinating, and controlling shift activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality clinker production.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce strict compliance with safety rules, Permit to Work (PTW), lockout/tagout procedures, and conduct safety briefings.
- Lead and supervise shift production activities to achieve daily targets while optimizing energy consumption.
- Monitor key process indicators via DCS/CCR systems and field checks, taking prompt corrective action on deviations.
- Collaborate with the QA/QC department to ensure clinker meets all quality specifications and minimize off-spec products.
- Supervise, coach, and train shift personnel, manage manpower allocation, and ensure seamless shift handovers.
- Prepare comprehensive production reports and log operational data accurately.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline or Sciences.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cement plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or shift leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of cement manufacturing processes, kiln operations, and process control systems (DCS/CCR).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities under pressure.
