About the Role
WTS Energy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Assistant Mooring Master to join our offshore operations in Nigeria. In this role, you will work closely with the Mooring Master to ensure all tanker mooring, unmooring, and offloading operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with international marine rules and OCIMF recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Mooring Master during tanker mooring and unmooring operations, providing guidance to tanker crews on tugboat positioning and bollard selection.
- Continuously monitor the tanker position, heading, speed, and hawser tension relative to the FPSO during station keeping and offloading.
- Supervise and guide export hose connection and disconnection procedures using dedicated offload equipment.
- Maintain continuous bridge watch and monitor environmental conditions including wind, waves, current, and visibility against Terminal Handbook limits.
- Communicate immediately with the Mooring Master regarding any abnormal movements, excessive loads, weather deterioration, or safety hazards.
- Ensure all required permits are secured prior to initiating hose connection and disconnection activities.
- Chief Mate Certificate (STCW95 – Reg. II/2) with valid flag state endorsement of recognition.
- Minimum of 12 months approved seagoing service as an officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage or greater.
- Comprehensive knowledge of COLREGS, Bridge Management, ECDIS, SBM, and tandem offloading operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
