We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Internal Control Officer to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria, and help safeguard our operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Review and appraise the soundness, effectiveness, and proper application of accounting and financial controls, compliance procedures, and documentation timeliness.
- Perform daily revenue assurance by reconciling sales figures with bank inflows.
- Monitor the effective usage of company assets in strict compliance with management policies and procedures.
- Manage and control field force expenses to ensure optimal value for every operational expenditure.
- Build a robust compliance environment to achieve zero-level policy, procedure, and regulatory infractions.
- Raise staff awareness regarding policies and procedures, maintaining a zero-tolerance stance on income leakages.
- Conduct periodic stock-taking exercises to reconcile physical inventory with system records and investigate variances.
- Audit administrative and procurement transactions to eliminate wastages and leakages.
- Perform sanity checks and deliver accurate, timely reports to management.
- Identify business risks and develop proactive preventive strategies.
- Compare material consumption against the Bill of Materials to detect and prevent shortages and pilferages.
- Possession of a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting.
- Professional certification such as Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) is an added advantage.
- 3 to 5 years of proven professional experience within the manufacturing, poultry, or FMCG industry.
- Strong analytical skills with an exceptionally high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a flawless command of the English language.
