About the Role

Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a leading food and agro-allied company and home to the iconic Golden Penny brand, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven professional to join our commercial team. As the Assistant Manager, Trade Development - North East B2C, you will play a pivotal role in driving trade development initiatives, managing distributor networks, expanding market coverage, and enhancing route-to-market effectiveness to achieve revenue growth within the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop relationships with Key Distributors to drive sales growth and market expansion across assigned territories.
  • Execute trade development strategies that support the achievement of sales volume and revenue targets.
  • Lead direct-to-retail redistribution activities through effective coordination of van sales and open market sales operations.
  • Ensure compliance with route planning processes, sales operating procedures, and the effective use of sales automation tools.
  • Expand market coverage by identifying, appointing, and managing sub-distributors within assigned territories.
  • Develop and implement Joint Business Plans with Key Distributors to improve performance and achieve agreed business objectives.
  • Conduct regular market visits to assess market opportunities, customer needs, distribution effectiveness, and competitive activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant sales experience within the FMCG industry, preferably in redistribution sales, trade development, or route-to-market operations.
  • Proven experience managing Key Distributors and driving sales growth across large territories.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
