About the Role
The Federal University Lafia is a rapidly growing institution dedicated to academic excellence, research innovation, and high-quality tertiary education in Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Lecturer to join our esteemed Faculty in the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry. In this academic role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of veterinary professionals by delivering engaging lectures, conducting impactful research, and mentoring students.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive undergraduate lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions in Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry.
- Design, update, and develop curriculum materials to ensure modern and relevant academic content.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate student research projects, academic assignments, and practical training.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings and administrative tasks.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives aligned with the university mandate.
- Possess a good Bachelor's degree (minimum of Second Class Honours) in Veterinary Medicine or a closely related relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Must hold a Master's degree in Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary Biochemistry, or a directly related discipline.
- Demonstrated potential for academic research, scholarly publications, and continuous professional development.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a passion for teaching and student mentorship.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies such as the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) will be an added advantage.
