About the Role
Federal University Lafia is seeking a dedicated and academically driven professional to join our esteemed faculty as an Assistant Lecturer in Veterinary Anatomy. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality university education and fostering excellence in research and teaching within Nasarawa State and across Nigeria. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering engaging undergraduate instruction, mentoring aspiring veterinary professionals, and contributing to the dynamic growth of our College of Medicine and allied medical sciences. Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive lectures, practical laboratory sessions, and tutorials in Veterinary Anatomy to undergraduate students.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum content aligned with national and international veterinary standards.
- Assess student performance through examinations, quizzes, practical evaluations, and constructive feedback.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, faculty committees, and university-wide academic events.
- Engage in continuous academic research, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and seek relevant grant opportunities.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and guidance to students to support their personal and professional development.
- Possession of a good second-class honours Bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine or a closely related relevant field from a recognized institution.
- A relevant Master degree in Veterinary Anatomy or a closely related discipline from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated potential for academic research, scholarly publishing, and effective university-level teaching.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills suited for a collaborative academic community.
- Membership in relevant professional veterinary bodies will be an added advantage.
