About the Role
Maranatha University, a private tertiary institution licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria, is dedicated to raising world-class graduates grounded in academic excellence and moral integrity. We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our academic staff as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and advancing institutional research goals within a vibrant university community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate lectures, seminars, and practical studio sessions in Urban and Regional Planning.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum content in line with accredited academic standards.
- Supervise undergraduate student research projects, studio designs, and academic fieldworks.
- Conduct impactful research and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees as assigned by management.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
- Candidates must possess a good Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a closely related discipline.
- The Master's degree must have been obtained with a CGPA suitable to qualify the candidate for an immediate or subsequent Ph.D. programme.
- Demonstrated potential for academic research and university-level teaching.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies such as the Town Planners Registration Council (TOPREC) or the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) will be an added advantage.
