About the Role

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University is looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Lecturer in Theatre Arts to join our esteemed faculty. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in teaching undergraduate students, mentoring budding artists, and advancing research in theatrical studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical workshops in various aspects of Theatre Arts and dramatic literature.
  • Design, update, and implement comprehensive course materials and curricula that meet national and international academic standards.
  • Assess student performance through examinations, assignments, and practical performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback.
  • Supervise undergraduate student projects, rehearsals, and dramatic productions.
  • Conduct impactful research and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed academic journals.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, faculty committees, and university-wide cultural events.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in Theatre Arts, Dramatic Arts, or a closely related field from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Ph.D. in view or completed will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching, academic research, or professional theatrical production.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
