As an Assistant Lecturer, you will play a vital role in imparting knowledge, mentoring medical students, and contributing to the advancement of psychiatric medicine through impactful research and clinical collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Psychiatry to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum content in line with modern educational standards.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and clinical rotations.
- Conduct high-quality research and publish findings in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings as well as community engagement initiatives.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students navigating their medical education journey.
- Must possess a good Bachelor's degree (Second Class Honours or higher) in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) or a relevant health science field from a recognized institution.
- Must hold a Master's degree in Psychiatry or a closely related medical discipline.
- Membership or fellowship with relevant professional bodies (such as the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African Postgraduate Medical College) will be an added advantage.
