About the Role

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University is seeking a dedicated and qualified Assistant Lecturer to join our esteemed Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, practical laboratory sessions, and tutorials in Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology to undergraduate students.
  • Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum content in alignment with current industry standards and NUC guidelines.
  • Conduct high-quality research, publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the university's academic reputation.
  • Supervise undergraduate student research projects, dissertations, and academic field placements.
  • Assess student performance through continuous evaluations, examinations, and constructive feedback.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, faculty committees, and university-wide academic events.
  • Mentor students on academic progress, career pathways, and professional development in the pharmaceutical sector.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Evidence of ongoing doctoral (PhD) studies or a strong commitment to pursuing a PhD will be an added advantage.
  • Prior teaching, research, or relevant industry experience within a tertiary institution or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed academic journals is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in modern digital teaching tools and laboratory management techniques.
