About the Role
Federal University Lafia is seeking a dedicated and qualified Assistant Lecturer in Paediatrics to join our prestigious College of Medicine. As a member of our academic faculty, you will play a vital role in instructing undergraduate medical students, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in impactful clinical research within the Department of Paediatrics.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Paediatrics to undergraduate medical students.
- Assist senior academic staff in the development and continuous improvement of course materials and syllabi.
- Supervise student research projects, clinical rotations, and academic progress.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, faculty committees, and university-wide academic events.
- Conduct relevant medical research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Engage in community service and institutional outreach programs aligned with the university mandate.
- Possess a good second-class honours degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) or a relevant health science field from a recognized institution.
- Hold a Master's degree in Paediatrics or a closely related medical discipline.
- Membership of relevant professional medical bodies, such as the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African Postgraduate Medical College, will be an added advantage.
