About the Role
Federal University Lafia, established in February 2011, is dedicated to expanding access and enhancing the quality of university education in Nigeria. Located in Nasarawa State, our institution boasts a rapidly growing academic community comprising multiple faculties, undergraduate programs, and postgraduate offerings. We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Lecturer in Mathematics to join our esteemed Department of Mathematics and contribute to our thriving academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for undergraduate mathematics courses.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum content in line with university standards.
- Assess student performance through examinations, quizzes, assignments, and continuous feedback.
- Provide academic advising, mentoring, and support to undergraduate students.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees and administrative duties as assigned.
- Possess a good Bachelor degree with a Second Class Honours in Mathematics or a closely related relevant field from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Must hold a Master degree in Mathematics or a directly related discipline.
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching, academic research, and community service.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Membership in relevant professional mathematical or academic bodies will be an added advantage.
