About the Role
Mewar International University (MIU) Nigeria, the first Indian university established on the African continent, is seeking a dynamic and qualified Assistant Lecturer in Mass Communication to join our esteemed faculty. Located strategically along the Abuja-FCT corridor in Masaka, Nasarawa State, MIU is fully approved by the Federal Executive Council and accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Lecturer in Mass Communication, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and professional journeys of our students.
- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training in various undergraduate Mass Communication courses.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum content aligned with NUC standards and industry trends.
- Supervise undergraduate student research projects, internships, and practical media productions.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, academic committees, and university-wide events.
- Conduct relevant academic research and contribute to peer-reviewed scholarly journals.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
Candidates applying for this position must meet the following academic criteria:
- Possession of a Master's degree in Mass Communication or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division in Mass Communication or a relevant field.
- A proven track record of at least two (2) scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated teaching potential and strong communication skills.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
