About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for the Department of Computing. In this academic role, you will contribute to the vibrant intellectual community by delivering engaging lectures, mentoring students, and advancing cutting-edge research in the field of computing and information technology.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality undergraduate lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions in Information and Communication Technology and related computing subjects.
- Assess student assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Conduct impactful academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects and provide academic counseling and career guidance.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and institutional committee assignments.
- Possession of a First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- Alternatively, a Second-Class Lower Division with a completed PhD in a relevant field will be considered.
- Must hold a Master's degree in ICT, Computing, or a related discipline.
- Must be currently enrolled in a PhD program with verifiable progress.
