About the Role
Vision University, a newly established private, faith-based institution located in Ikogbo Town, Ogun State, Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Lecturer to join our Department of History and International Relations. Licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2023 and mentored by Lagos State University (LASU), our university is committed to academic excellence, moral integrity, and rigorous scholarship. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate lectures, seminars, and tutorials in History and International Relations.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum content in line with NUC and university standards.
- Supervise undergraduate student research projects, essays, and academic activities.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in department, faculty, and university committee meetings as well as academic events.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
- Perform other administrative and academic duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
- Possess a good Master degree in History, International Relations, or a closely related relevant discipline with a competitive CGPA that qualifies the candidate for a Ph.D. programme.
- An ongoing Ph.D. registration or a clear plan to enroll in a doctoral program will be considered a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated potential for academic research and scholarly publishing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to align with the core faith-based values and ethical standards of Vision University.
- Previous teaching or research experience in a tertiary institution is an added advantage.
