About the Role
Federal University Lafia was established in February 2011 with the mandate to increase access and quality of university education in Nigeria. Located in the capital of Nasarawa State, the institution boasts a dynamic academic environment comprising a College of Medicine, multiple schools, and diverse undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Assistant Lecturer to contribute to our Department of Histopathology and Forensic within the College of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate lectures and practical laboratory sessions in Histopathology and Forensic.
- Assist senior academic staff in curriculum development, revision, and departmental administration.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, assignments, and practical assessments.
- Participate in student academic advising, mentoring, and departmental committee meetings as assigned.
- Possess a good second-class honours Bachelor degree in a relevant medical or biological science field from a recognized institution.
- Hold a Master degree in Histopathology, Forensic Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills suitable for academia.
- Prior teaching or research experience in a tertiary institution is an added advantage.
