About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, invites qualified and motivated academics to join our vibrant academic community. We are currently looking for a dedicated Assistant Lecturer in Forest Resources and Wildlife Management within the Department of Agriculture to inspire the next generation of environmental and agricultural leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory or field sessions in Forest Resources and Wildlife Management.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects and provide academic mentoring and career guidance.
- Conduct high-quality, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of departmental curricula and course materials.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, meetings, and community service initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry stakeholders on environmental conservation and wildlife management projects.
- A Master's degree in Forest Resources, Wildlife Management, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Must have a PhD currently in progress with documented evidence of strong research potential and academic publishing.
- Must possess a First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a completed PhD.
- Demonstrated prior experience or clear potential in teaching, academic instruction, and student assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to academic integrity and professional ethics.
