About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Lecturer to join our vibrant Department of Computing within the Faculty. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Data Science and related computing subjects.
- Assess, grade, and provide constructive feedback on student assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Supervise undergraduate student research projects and academic portfolios.
- Conduct high-quality, publishable research in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related fields.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and university committee service.
- Contribute to community engagement and institutional advancement initiatives.
- Possession of a First Degree (Bachelor's) with not below a Second-Class Upper Division in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related discipline. Alternatively, a Second-Class Lower Division with a completed PhD.
- Must hold a Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a relevant computing field.
- Currently enrolled in or progressing toward a PhD in Data Science or a closely related area.
- Demonstrated evidence of potential or prior experience in academic teaching and scholarly research.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
