The Federal University Lafia is seeking a dedicated and qualified Assistant Lecturer to join our esteemed Department of Criminology and Security Studies. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering groundbreaking research in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. As an Assistant Lecturer, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of the next generation of security professionals, researchers, and public servants while contributing to the intellectual growth of our vibrant academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate lectures, seminars, and tutorials in Criminology and Security Studies.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and innovative instructional methodologies.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, dissertations, and academic research activities.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, faculty boards, and university committee assignments.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Provide mentorship, academic counseling, and guidance to undergraduate students.
- Must possess a good Bachelor's degree (Second Class Honours or above) in Criminology, Security Studies, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Must possess a relevant Master's degree in Criminology and Security Studies or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated potential for academic research and scholarly publications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills suited for higher education teaching.
- Membership in relevant professional security or criminological associations is an added advantage.
