The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Lecturer to join our esteemed Department of Computer Science within the Faculty of Physical Sciences. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate Computer Science courses.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessment tools in line with current NUC guidelines and industry standards.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, research assignments, and academic progress.
- Conduct high-quality research, publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and actively participate in academic conferences.
- Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committees as assigned.
- Mentor students and provide academic advising to support their personal and professional development.
- Possession of a Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Must have a PhD currently in progress, demonstrating a clear roadmap toward completion.
- A First Degree (Bachelor's) with a classification not below Second Class Upper Division. Candidates with a Second Class Lower Division may be considered only if they already possess a completed PhD.
- Demonstrated evidence of teaching potential or prior teaching experience at the tertiary level.
- A proven track record or strong potential for academic research and scholarly publications.
