About the Role
Federal University Lafia was established in February 2011 with the mandate to increase access and quality of university education in Nigeria. Located in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, the institution boasts a dynamic academic environment featuring a College of Medicine, multiple specialized schools, and numerous undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Lecturer in Biochemistry to join our esteemed faculty and contribute to the intellectual growth of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate students in Biochemistry.
- Design, update, and evaluate course materials, curricula, and assessment methods in line with university standards.
- Supervise undergraduate student research projects, academic assignments, and laboratory work.
- Conduct impactful academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings as well as community service initiatives.
- Provide academic counseling, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
- Possession of a good Second Class Honours Bachelor degree in Biochemistry or a closely related relevant field from a recognized institution.
- A Master degree in Biochemistry or a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching, academic research, and scholarly publications.
