About the Role
Movenpick Hotel Ikoyi Lagos is situated on the gateway to Victoria Island in the leafy green business district of Ikoyi. We are currently looking for a dedicated Assistant Chief Engineer to support our engineering operations, ensure seamless facility maintenance, and uphold our high standards of safety and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise repair, maintenance, and plant operations, assuming full responsibility in the Chief Engineer's absence.
- Ensure prompt resolution of building and equipment defects, prioritizing guest comfort and safety.
- Manage, train, and mentor engineering staff, overseeing duty rosters and performance metrics.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols, fire safety measures, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate outside contracts, oversee capital works projects, and maintain accurate cost and inventory records.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and equipment failures to minimize operational disruption.
- Liaise with external contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure full compliance with local standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in hotel engineering, facilities management, or construction works.
- Strong technical knowledge of high-standard building systems, infrastructure, and fire safety systems.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities in English.
