About the Role

Accor S.A., Europe's leading hospitality company, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Chief Engineer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this vital leadership role, you will support the Chief Engineer in maintaining the highest standards of facility management, ensuring seamless hotel operations, and delivering exceptional guest experiences through proactive maintenance and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise repair, maintenance, and plant operations, assuming full responsibility in the Chief Engineer's absence.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of building, plant, and equipment defects affecting guest comfort and safety.
  • Manage the engineering team, including scheduling, duty rosters, training, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate and supervise preventive and routine maintenance programs, energy conservation measures, and capital works projects.
  • Implement and monitor strict safety protocols, including fire safety, equipment checks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage maintenance documentation, spare parts inventory, service requests, and vendor contracts.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and equipment failures, coordinating immediate remedial actions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in hotel engineering, facilities management, or construction works.
  • Strong technical expertise in high-standard building systems, electrical infrastructure, and fire safety systems.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate maintenance staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to remain composed during emergency situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
