About the Role
Denam Properties Limited is a premier real estate development and hospitality company based in Abuja, Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Chef to join our culinary team at Denam Apartments Limited (DAL). In this role, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our esteemed guests, maintaining the highest standards of taste, presentation, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, wash, chop, and organize all necessary cooking ingredients efficiently.
- Assist the Head Chef with daily food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Strictly follow standardized recipes, portion sizes, and preparation procedures.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, taste, and presentation before service.
- Maintain a spotless, organized workstation and adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food items to minimize waste and spoilage.
- Inspect kitchen inventory regularly and report low stock or damaged items to the Head Chef.
- Clean, sanitize, and properly maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and service staff during peak operational hours.
- Culinary training, certification, or a relevant degree is preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on culinary experience in a professional kitchen.
- Prior experience working in a hotel, restaurant, serviced apartment, or hospitality environment is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of food hygiene, safety standards, and basic kitchen operations.
- Strong time-management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
