We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at our Idumota, Lagos Island office. In this full-time, on-site role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the broader accounting functions that drive our business forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record daily financial transactions and update general ledgers accurately.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
  • Perform routine bank reconciliations and assist in preparing basic financial reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities alongside the accounting team.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial documentation and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure timely and precise financial data sharing.
  • Uphold internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven experience in an accounting or finance support role, preferably within the retail or FMCG sector.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related academic field.
  • Progress towards or completion of professional certifications such as ICAN or ACCA is a distinct advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
