About the Role
Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming healthcare access across Africa through advocacy, research, and technology. We are looking for a talented and passionate Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in building innovative solutions that bridge healthcare gaps in vulnerable communities.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deploy robust machine learning models and AI algorithms to support healthcare initiatives.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers, and IT experts to identify AI use cases in public health.
- Process, analyze, and manage large healthcare datasets while ensuring data privacy and ethical standards.
- Integrate AI solutions into existing digital platforms and mobile health applications used in underserved regions.
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize the performance of deployed machine learning models for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated with emerging AI technologies and best practices to drive innovation within the organization.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or similar technical role.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or C++.
- Hands-on experience with popular machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and database management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong passion for social impact and public health in Africa.
