About the Role

We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Area Sales Manager to join our high-performing sales team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving our commercial growth, expanding our market reach, and leading a dedicated team of sales professionals to achieve ambitious business targets within your assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed assigned revenue and volume targets.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate the field sales team to deliver exceptional individual and collective performance.
  • Manage daily sales activities, route planning, and market coverage across the designated territory.
  • Monitor sales performance closely, analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Build, nurture, and maintain strong, profitable relationships with distributors, key retailers, and key trade partners.
  • Ensure the seamless and effective implementation of trade marketing promotions and corporate sales initiatives.
  • Track team KPIs, generate regular sales reports, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Identify new business opportunities, drive proactive territory expansion, and secure strategic accounts.
  • Ensure strict adherence and compliance with company policies, operational processes, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (BA/BSc/HND) in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven sales experience, preferably within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or consumer goods industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing, leading, and developing a high-performing field sales team.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern territory management, route-to-market, and sales operations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modern sales reporting tools or CRM software.
  • Willingness and readiness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
