We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Area Sales Manager to drive product availability, distribution, and sell-out across an assigned territory in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will build a reliable local supply network through strong wholesale and distributor partnerships, ensuring our consumer goods reach neighbourhood stores and open market outlets with the optimal assortment, visibility, and frequency. Key Responsibilities
  • Drive territory growth by owning sales, distribution, product availability, and sell-out targets across wholesale, open market, and neighbourhood store channels.
  • Manage supply partners by identifying, onboarding, and supporting distributors to ensure pricing discipline, stock availability, and sustainable working capital.
  • Expand retail coverage, close distribution gaps, and ensure priority products are consistently available and correctly priced.
  • Supervise, coach, and deploy field sales teams, including sales reps and merchandisers, to maximize route efficiency and outlet productivity.
  • Execute approved trade promotions, market activations, and retailer initiatives to boost brand visibility.
  • Monitor market intelligence, track competitor activity, and utilize data insights to resolve execution gaps swiftly.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of FMCG sales and distribution experience, specifically within wholesale, open market, and neighbourhood retail environments.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing distributors and leading field sales teams on structured call cycles.
  • Solid understanding of last-mile redistribution economics, drop size, route productivity, and weighted distribution.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills with proficiency in Excel and field-force tracking tools.
