About the Role
Cavista is looking for an innovative and experienced Android Engineer II to build secure, scalable, and high-performing mobile financial solutions. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing and delivering mission-critical mobile applications that power digital payments, banking services, and exceptional customer experiences. Working closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Backend Engineering, you will help shape the technical direction of our Android platform while ensuring compliance with local and international financial regulations such as the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and PCI-DSS standards.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to architect and deliver innovative mobile features supporting digital financial products.
- Drive technical decisions concerning application architecture, mobile security, scalability, performance optimization, and clean maintainable code.
- Develop secure mobile solutions for transactions, digital wallets, authentication, identity verification, and payment gateways.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to seamlessly integrate APIs, banking services, and third-party financial platforms.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and champion engineering best practices across the Android development team.
- Enforce application security standards including secure data storage, token-based authentication, encryption, and fraud prevention mechanisms.
- Create reusable components, comprehensive documentation, and technical standards to improve development efficiency.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience within FinTech, Digital Banking, Payments, or Financial Services.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack Components, Coroutines, and modern Android development practices.
- Deep understanding of architectural patterns including MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, and modular application design.
- Demonstrated experience publishing and maintaining scalable Android applications on the Google Play Store.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks including unit, integration, and UI testing.
