About the Role
Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Manager, Engineering Procurement to join our rapidly growing FMCG division in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will drive procurement efficiency, manage strategic vendor relationships, and ensure the seamless supply of engineering spares, packaging materials, and essential plant inputs to support our competitive manufacturing operations across a pan-African market.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the procurement of both imported and local engineering spares in close consultation with end-users and plant requirements received from the store.
- Oversee the purchasing of packaging materials, soybean meal bags, fuels, solvents, and industrial chemicals while ensuring optimal inventory levels.
- Conduct regular stock reviews with store managers to mitigate the risk of stock-outs and streamline database management and reporting.
- Drive continuous process optimization and conduct comprehensive market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and reliable vendors.
- Ensure absolute confidentiality and strict adherence to data protection regulations regarding personal data processing and subject consent.
- Maintain compliance with relevant internal management policies and statutory regulatory frameworks.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in procurement, supply chain, or engineering roles within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.
- A bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- An MBA and/or relevant professional supply chain certifications will be a strong added advantage.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Solid working knowledge of engineering parts and hands-on experience with SAP software.
