About the Role

Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Plc is a leading power distribution utility dedicated to delivering reliable electricity and exceptional customer service across our franchise states in Nigeria. In partnership with the Manila Electricity Company (MERALCO), we are transforming our operations to meet international standards through innovative technology and engineering excellence. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Engineer for our Iseyin Business Hub to ensure optimal performance and reliability of our power distribution network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate technical crew activities to guarantee high reliability and availability of the power distribution network.
  • Ensure optimal functioning of technical assets and equipment, including transformers and cables.
  • Drive prompt resolution of and response to customer technical complaints regarding the network.
  • Oversee the updating of route lengths for 33/11/0.415kV electrical networks.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety standards during all field operations.
  • Escalate unresolved network and equipment failures to the regional office promptly.
  • Monitor external contractors to ensure compliance with IBEDC technical specifications.
  • Ensure optimal power supply control to customers in alignment with the Serviced Tariff framework.
  • Prepare comprehensive regular and ad-hoc reports for relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other sundry assignments delegated by the Technical Manager or Business Hub Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Electrical Engineering (B.Sc., B.Eng.); postgraduate qualifications in power systems engineering or management are an added advantage.
  • Must possess relevant engineering certifications and active membership in professional bodies such as COREN or NSE.
  • Minimum of 7 years of diverse maintenance and operational experience within the power or telecommunications sector.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
