About the Role
Olam Agri is a market-leading, differentiated food, feed, and fiber agri-business with a global footprint and a deep understanding of market needs built over 33 years. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Agricultural Extension Officer to support the implementation of impactful agricultural programs within our soybean and maize value chains in Nigeria. In this role, you will drive farmer onboarding, training, and the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Regenerative Agriculture techniques across our growing outgrower networks. Key Responsibilities- Recruit, onboard, and manage smallholder farmers participating in outgrower and seed multiplication programs.
- Deliver comprehensive training on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), regenerative agriculture, soil health, and post-harvest loss reduction.
- Utilize the Training of Trainers (ToT) approach to develop model farmers who can knowledge-share within their communities.
- Conduct regular farm visits to monitor compliance with agronomic practices and provide technical field support.
- Coordinate farmer geo-location mapping, maintain accurate databases, and report sustainability metrics.
- Collaborate closely with the Procurement team to facilitate efficient produce aggregation and offtake.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
- 4 to 5 years of proven experience in agricultural extension, agronomy, or value chain development, specifically within soybean and maize.
- Demonstrated success in driving sustainable and regenerative farming practices among smallholder farmers.
- Strong understanding of rural community development, stakeholder engagement, and farmer capacity building.
- Ability to travel extensively within rural locations and work independently in fast-paced field environments.
